Revlon Balms// Review

I have just wrote up 5 new beauty posts that will be up next week so that's my apology for being the worst blogger ever! But mock exams and my birthday and driving lessons and general life just gets in the way sometimes but I will make up for it with a review on one of my favourite drugstore products, Revlon Balm Stains.

As far as I am aware, there are 3 different variations of this product; the colour boost matte balms, the colour boost lacquer balms and the original balm stain. I have tried out all 3 formulas and if you keep reading, you will find out which one came out on top!

From left to right, I have the shades 001 honey, 005 crush, 115 whimsical, 220 showy and 205 elusive

Gooey Flapjack Recipe

I haven't posted a recipe in forever and I made the most gorgeous flapjacks last week, so I thought the perfect excuse to make them again would be to put the recipe on here ;) this is a super easy recipe and hardly any ingredients or skills are needed!

Guest Post// Drugstore Dupes// A Topsy Turvy Blog

Hello Lovelies;

My names Casey, and I run A Topsy Turvy blog. Today's post is ‘Drug store dupes’ of types..There are a lot of different products on the market, and whilst they aren't exact dupes (colour wise), they do the same job as the higher end brands.

Blonde Maintenance

Hello lovelies; how has your week been? I have had mocks and stuff at sixth form so I've had no time for blogging which makes me so sad :( as some of you may know, I have changed my hair colour sooooo much! Right now I have silvery white hair and I love it! But keeping your hair light blonde without any brassy tones can be quite hard work and bleached hair is so damaged and often looks it too. So today I have my top 5 products for keeping light hair ashy!

Favourites #4

Hi guys- sorry for being a bit AWOL for nearly a week now (oops). I'm such a bad blogger so here are my excuses; it's been the first week of school. That's it, sixth form basically takes over my life, that includes blogging unfortunately. As much as a loved blogmas, I sadly cannot blog every day because I just don't have the time, or the lighting, to do so :( I know I haven't been keeping count of my favourites posts very well, but I think I'm on my fourth one now so we will go from there :P

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
I really love the bourjois happy light, so I was excited to try this formula and compare! I think I like it even more than the happy light and I've only been using it for about 4 or 5 days. Although I have shade 51 in both formulas, this is much lighter and fits my skin colour almost perfectly. It makes dull, dry skin look healthy and glowing, but not shiny. It doesn't last all day, but maybe a good 5-6 hours before it starts to become slightly patchy, but nothing a bit of powder or concealer can't fix. I love this foundation and it smells really nice too!

Tea Tree Pore Minimiser
This is a somewhat dupe for benefit's POREfessional in the way it's a skin coloured primer claiming to smooth out the appearance of pores. But unlike benefit, this product doesn't contain silicone and is actually a spot treatment as well as a primer, so it's great if you have problem skin.

MAC Highligh Soft and Gentle
I've already talked about this product quite a bit, but it's seriously so amazing! I get compliments every time I wear this (from my grandma, that counts right?!). It gives a beautiful glow to the skin and looks gorgeous when it catches the light. I put it on the tops of my cheekbones, on my cupid's bow and on the bridge of my nose to achieve that 'sun-kissed' radiant look :)

Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Extreme-Plump
This lipgloss is seriously amazing and unique. Although the colour and application are pretty average in terms of lipgloss, the formula is incredible! Wait for about 30 after application and your lips start to tingle, it's such a unique concept. It makes you pout and pucker up your lips for the 'Botox' effect (in a good way). It's such a cool product and I've really been loving it all month, especially because I have naturally small, thin lips.

Fudge Urban Coconut Hairspray
Again,  I've already mentioned this product recently, but I've been using it every day for weeks now. Not only does it hold your hair style all day without any crunchiness, it smells like coconut and fruit- what more could you want in a hairspray?

IKEA Storage Tubs
This is a bit of a random favourite, but how cute are my new tubs? They were only £3 each (I think) and I use mine for nail polishes and makeup brushes. I just think that they look really simple and classy.

I hope you enjoyed reading what my favourite bits have been. Expect a few more hair posts in the future as I'm really in to looking after my poor, poor hair right now ;)

2013// The Round Up

So we are a week in to the new year now and I've been working on compiling a list of all my favourites from beauty to movies to share with you all! I won't go in to great detail about every product because if it's made this list, it's probably already been spoken about loads on my blog somewhere haha! Instead, I will just tell you my favourite thing about it. I have divided all my favourites in to categories to make it easier too. So, without any more rambling, let's begin....

Makeup
This was by far the hardest category to narrow down because I have tried so many amazing products this year, so it was really hard to narrow it down, but I managed to condense it to just 8 makeup items!

Bourjous Happy Light Foundation this is a fairly new discovery for me but I've worn it every day for the last month and it's the best foundation I've tried yet. Stays on all day with minimal shininess. Full coverage but not cakey- perfect!
Revlon Lip Butters amazing colour range. The perfect mix of a lipstick and moisterising lip balm, as the name would suggest, they're super soft and buttery.
Sleek Contour Kit amazing for contouring, not too orangey or ashy. Lovely highlight that doubles up as a beautiful champaign eyeshadow.
MAC Eyeshadows unbeatable quality and every single colour you could think of. You can make your own palette with 2, 4 or 15 shades which is so cool. They last all day long without any creasing, even on my oily eyelids.
MAC Lipsticks available in tonnes of colours and finishes. They're so buttery and creamy and you can eat/drink and not worry about getting lipstick everywhere.
Maybelline Gel Eyeliner I prefer this to my bobbi brown gel liner. Worn it pretty much every day since February and only used about half and it's nowhere near to drying up. Glides on the eye beautifully with ease using any brush and doesn't smudge at all. A must have!
Maybelline The Falsies a reccomendation from Tanya Burr last winter. I have repurchased this time and time again since then because I've literally used it almost everyday. Gives you length, volume, definition without clumps. Definitely the best mascara out there!
Maybelline Colour Tattoos these are incredible. I use these everyday as a base and I never get creasing. They should be a staple in anyone's makeup bag :)

Lazy Day Post #3

It's been 3 weeks since I've done my last lazy day post (oops) but due to Christmas, new years, eating 10x my own body weight etc etc, I haven't been doing very much interesting stuff to tell you about. But with the holiday season over and school term beginning again, I have some cool stuff I want to talk to you all about.

Craft by Lou Teasdale
Words cannot describe how excited I am for the release of this DIY book in April. As I'm sure many of you know, Lou is my absolute idol, I just think she's perfect in every way, shape and form and I am constantly inspired by her hair, makeup, fashion and life in general. So I'm sure you can imagine how extatic I was when I heard she was releasing a book about all of her industry tips! It's available to buy in April but you can pre-order it on Amazon now for about £11 I think! (Mum, if you're reading this, my birthday is in a month remember hint hint ;) ) and aparently Gemma Styles models in it too- what could be better?!

Topshop Nails

Hiiiiiii! I hope you all had a lovely New Years! I had some friends over and we had pizza and played twister, all the usual things for 16 year olds ;) so one of my absolute favourite nail trends right now is chrome! I love it! I think it's a perfect alternative to glitter if you want something a little extra special and when it comes to chrome nail polish, Topshop is really on point. I adore the packaging of Topshop makeup with the doodle polka dots- super trendy and sophisticated. Here are my 3 favourites, I don't know what the names are though because it's not on the bottle and you can't tell which ones which on the website so sorry guys :( Topshop nail polishes are £6 which is very reasonable, especially because they're so long lasting and come in some really beautiful, unique shades.

My favourite chrome shade is the gold/olive green shade! The colour looks different in different lights and angles which is a really lovely effect.

I have some other shades from the Topshop range too, my personal favourite being the bright, electric blue in the middle (I think it's called AWOL, but don't hold me to that!).

Have you guys ever tried Topshop nail polishes? If so, let me know which shades because I'm looking to expand my collection ;)

Happy New Years everybody :)
